BESS ARMSTRONG
Bess Armstrong has appeared in a number of movies , the one which caught our eye was High Road to China ( 1983 ) * . It was set in the flapper era of the 1920's . Her co star is Tom Selleck ( O'Malley ) . The differences between the two in appearance and attitude , not to mention an underlying love story make this film worth viewing . The aerial scenes and the sense of risk and adventure present make it stand out . John Barry's soundtrack is a masterpiece , a prelude to his later works . Bess 's character ( Eve ) is an intelligent and self indulged spoilt brat at the start , hence her high " spankability " rating and this page . Two scenes stand out . These occur after they are held hostage by a somewhat murderous group of Arabs in the desert . The first occurs when she is told not talk in front of men . When she answers a question from the Arab leader , Selleck looses face and reasserts his authority by slapping her face with such force that she is knocked to the ground . Afterwards she accuses him of " enjoying that " . The next interesting scene is where he says that he could ring her neck and she jumps up and down if front of him shouting " do it , do it " as she sticks her neck out . Selleck walks away . There are many scenes where Eve could / should have been spanked in the movie , what a shame .
